Donald C. Machado, Jr.

Donald C. Machado, Jr. is a 1986 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame where he graduated magna cum laude. His practice has been largely in the insurance defense area including the defense of a boiler manufacturer in asbestos litigation for over 20 years in Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, and the Philippines (over 3,000 cases). In addition to a law degree, Mr. Machado is a certificated flight instructor with an airline transport pilot rating and type ratings in jet aircraft. Using this expertise, he has handled numerous aviation-related legal matters including the representation of companies following aircraft accidents/incidents.
Mr. Machado is admitted in both the Hawaii and Guam Bars. His professional memberships include the Hawaii State Bar Association, Guam Bar Association, and the Lawyer Pilot’s Bar Association.

Lahela L.H. Hite

Lahela Hiapola‘ela‘e Farrington Hite is a proud alumnus of Kamehameha Schools, Kapālama Campus (C/O 2001); the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, where she graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy; and the William S. Richardson School of Law, in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2010.
Following graduation from law school, Ms. Hite served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the County of Kauai, and a Legislative Aide to Honorable Hermina Morita and Derek S.K. Kawakami (Representing the 14th House District of Hanalei, Princeville, Kilauea, Anahola, Kapaa, and Wailua), before becoming a civil litigation attorney.
Ms. Hite has experience representing individual and corporate clients in state, federal, and administrative actions at all phases including investigation, negotiation, pre-trial litigation, mediation, arbitration/trial, and appeal. Her current practice focuses primarily on insurance defense, with an emphasis on personal injury, commercial general liability, and construction defect litigation.
Ms. Hite is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of Hawaii, the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. She is also a member of The CLM, Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity, Hawaii Women Lawyers, Native Hawaiian Bar Association, Daughters of Hawaii. Ms. Hite is also an Arbitrator with the Court Annexed Arbitration Program for the Hawaii State Judiciary and is a United States District Court Judicial Conference Delegate for Hawaii for the 2020 to 2023 term.
